Investment in E-commerce in Pakistan

E-commerce is a trend that has shown a significant growth over the past few years in Pakistan. For almost two decades’ e-commerce has been able to make life easier for people, but unfortunately in the past people of Pakistan were not that well aware of this electronic commerce business. But with the introduction of internet and the increase in internet user’s e-commerce has gained much importance. The increase in internet usage with the advancement in mobile phone technology has brought a major shift in shopping trends of Pakistanis, now they are using e-commerce as a mode of shopping platform.
Mobile phone technology with the combination of the internet has brought up the ease of downloading apps for buying and selling goods, people with this are buying goods with just a click. This is on the buyer's side, but for sellers, e-commerce is a major advantage. The demand has caused the sellers to put a big chunk of their sales into an online business. They now offer goods and services through online modes. Not just this there are many businesses that have been initiated just because of the e-commerce, they are totally online based businesses therefore demand more investment in E-commerce in Pakistan.

In Pakistan, there are 29 million users of the internet and this number is expected to continue to grow over the years, thus this has become an attractive market for the investors. The investors are now willing to spend the major part of their investment in online markets as compared to the traditional markets. Therefore, the investment in e-commerce in Pakistan is growing. The sales have been shifted from the traditional markets to the online ones.

E-commerce has brought along a major advantage of expanding the market, as e-commerce allows creating a web now suppliers are ordering the stuff from abroad to sell them in their local markets. This also requires huge investment as orders have to make online across the border so payment should be made accordingly.

Not just this, social media has also played a major role in creating awareness regarding e-commerce in Pakistan. Social media itself has become a platform for generating sales and for marketing goods and services. Brands are now using social media to market Black Friday 2017 deals Pakistan, and with the popularity on Facebook people have now started to offer the option of selling goods. This is not just confined to brands only many different products ranging from electronics to home appliances all can now be bought and sell on Facebook. Social media sites have given a boost to many e-commerce businesses, in fact, it has now become a proper platform for generating sales.

People also find it much comforting as they don’t have to leave their house to buy goods and services. It saves them both time and transportation cost. Also, the businesses being done through social media or websites save a lot of cost for the sellers as they are not required to have a physical being of their brand. So e-commerce through social media requires very less investment for doing a business, but it does generate a lot of return.
